Merry Christmas!
A short post to finish the year. Nigel and I are off for a well-earned break. Dead Gardeners Society will be back on 11th January 2023. But before I go, here’s a little round up of what’s happen at Betley Court this year:
The huge steel roof frames were hoisted into position so that construction on the roof could begin.
Nigel was on BBC News again, marking the third anniversary of the fire. A positive round up of what we’ve achieved on the rebuild. Lovely to meet up with award-winning social media journalist, Chris Steers.
We held the official opening of the Visitors Hub, a lovely occasion with friends, former residents and people who have helped us put Betley Court back together again.
We hosted lots of restoration tours of the roof, and the interior of the house.
And we’re almost
at the stage of having the external envelop completed; the temporary roof is coming down!Scaffolders at work (Washington & Peart)
We’ve come
a long way from those dark days following the fire. We couldn’t have done it by
ourselves. Thank you to everyone involved in the rebuild!
I’ll leave
you with a few photos from Sarah Peart and Darren Washington from Centre Space (thanks you two! Awesome work!) , who were up again
on the scaffolding, photographing the rebuild last week.View over chimneys (Washington & Peart) First floor room (Washington & Peart) First floor room (Washington & Peart) The stairwell of the main house (Washington & Peart
