Nearly Four Years On

Greetings from a rather rainy Betley Court Gardens. July's unseasonably wet weather seems to have soaked into August. The upside is the lawns are looking lovely and lush, when usually they would be straw-yellow by this time of year.

Apologies for the lack of posts recently. Both the rebuild at Betley Court and our work lives outside Betley Court have been hectic. With the bulk of the external rebuild behind us now, we're also looking at changing the direction of the blog to focus on the gardens in a monthly post. It'll allow me time to develop an email newsletter about upcoming events at the gardens.

The top image popped up in my phone with the title "this week, three years ago". It shows the formal flowerbeds in full bloom with a backdrop of a ruined building with boarded windows and no roof. It was taken after the partial demolition but before rebuilding work commenced.

The bottom image was taken yesterday, as the remaining window glass was being installed. Its quite a fitting reminder of just how far we've come in the four years since the fire in 2019.

Our last open weekend event of 2023 will be 16-17th September. Tickets will be on sale later this month

All best wishes

Ladybird Su
